About the Author
Barbara lives with her husband Ian in Burbage Wiltshire, just south of the Savernake Forest where the Big Belly Oak stands.
For the last five years, she has enjoyed getting to know the area, walking along the many paths and tracks in and around the village. Some walks take her out into the surrounding countryside, in an area which has been designated, ‘of outstanding natural beauty’, the statement she most definitely agrees with.
With adult children and five grandchildren, along with many interests, Barbara is a very busy lady.
Barbara Enjoys:-
Spending time with family and friends.
Creating pencil drawings of pets and children (several commissions undertaken).
Music, which is very varied, from classical to live bands and concerts
(she sadly loves Take That) and is attempting to play the piano badly!
Travelling, her favourite places visited so far are -
New Zealand, Australia, Egypt, Japan, Malaysia, USA where she worked for
two years in Virginia with Ian. Munich for the Oktoberfest, meeting up with her great
friends from Germany and the US.
With the success of her first children's book 'The Savernake Big Belly Oak' Barbara was compelled and excited to write about the other veteran oaks. Along with their strange names and shapes it gave her the perfect setting to write about the ghostly legends that surround the forest.
